Our story and purpose

From Dotito to the wider Zimbabwean rural economy, we are helping farmers grow with purpose and profit.

Green Culture officially launched in Dotito, Mt. Darwin, in October 2022 through the introduction of velvet beans, cowpeas, sunn hemp, groundnuts, millet, sorghum and sesame under the BEST programme with World Vision Zimbabwe. The model has since expanded to Shamva, Bindura, Masvingo and Mwenezi.

Director (Research and Development)

Tawonga Musiiwa

Mr. Tawonga Musiiwa is the founding member of Greenculture Zimbabwe. He is a seasoned agricultural economist and philanthropist with more than seven years of experience in the seed industry. Throughout his career, he has played a key role in identifying, mobilizing, and training smallholder farmers across several districts in Mashonaland Central Province, Zimbabwe. His work has focused on promoting sustainable agricultural practices, improving seed systems, and strengthening the livelihoods of rural farming communities. Mr. Musiiwa holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Certificate in Project and Programme Monitoring and Evaluation, also from the University of Zimbabwe. He is a certified Seed Analyst, having obtained his certification through the Seed Services Institute of Zimbabwe under the Department of Research and Specialist Services (DR&SS). He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Agriculture and Applied Economics at the University of Zimbabwe, further advancing his expertise in agricultural policy, economics, and sustainable development. With a strong commitment to agricultural transformation and community development, Mr. Musiiwa continues to champion initiatives that empower smallholder farmers, enhance food security, and promote sustainable economic growth in Zimbabwe.

Head of Agronomy

David Madanhi

David Madanhi is an accomplished international development and agribusiness professional with more than ten years of experience designing and delivering market-led agricultural development initiatives across Africa. He has extensive expertise in private sector engagement, partnership development, resource mobilization, inclusive agribusiness, and agricultural policy. David combines strong commercial acumen with technical expertise in agricultural value chains, helping smallholder farmers integrate into profitable markets while creating sustainable business opportunities for private sector investors. His experience spans collaboration with governments, financial institutions, development partners, agribusinesses, and farmer organizations to develop scalable agricultural solutions. He holds a Master of Management in Agribusiness from New Zealand and an MSc in Agricultural Production Chain Management from the Netherlands, providing a solid foundation in agribusiness strategy, agricultural finance, value chain development, and market systems.

Mrs N Musiiwa

Mrs N Musiiwa is an IT professional with over seven years of hands-on expertise in network engineering and infrastructure management. She holds a Diploma in Applied Information Technology (Network Engineering) from the University of Zimbabwe School of Technology, providing her with a robust technical foundation. Her career features a strong track record of optimizing network reliability in healthcare environments during her tenure at Belvedere Medical Centre, followed by strategic leadership as the Head of IT at Greenculture Zimbabwe.

Sales and Marketing Officer

Clever Mawanza

Clever Mawanza holds a Diploma in Marketing, with specialized expertise in Selling and Sales Management and Public Relations. He has over six years of experience in the retail and service industries, where he has developed extensive knowledge in customer service, sales, marketing, relationship management, and business operations. His diverse professional background has equipped him with strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, enabling him to adapt effectively to dynamic business environments.

Social Affairs Secretary

Mrs Rumbidzai Dembo

Mrs Rumbidzai Dembo is a qualified Social Worker and Counselor. She brings experience in working with the underprivileged and the most disadvantaged in society. Her experience of working with orphaned children at Jairos Jiri shaped her career of working with Green Culture as a Social Affairs Secretary, working directly with farmer organisations in identifying areas of development and crafting project ideas that sustain the livelihoods of the smallholder farmers.
